FAQ

Is paragliding safe?

Yes. Safety is the top priority at Tandem Fly Kronplatz. You will fly exclusively with experienced, state-certified tandem pilots using modern, regularly inspected paragliding equipment.

Do I need any flying experience or sporting abilities?

No. For a tandem flight, neither flying experience nor technical knowledge or special sporting abilities are required. Your pilot takes full control of the flight. For take-off, only a short running start (around 10–15 metres) is needed. Depending on the conditions, landing involves a few walking steps or is carried out gently and comfortably in a seated position.

How does a tandem flight work?

After a short briefing, you take off together with your pilot from the mountain. During the flight, you enjoy views of the Dolomites and South Tyrol before landing safely in the valley.

How long does the flight last?

Depending on the type of flight and weather conditions, the flight lasts approximately 10 to 40 minutes

Can I fly even if I’m afraid of heights?

Yes. Many guests with a mild fear of heights find the experience very enjoyable. Unlike standing on a bridge or a panoramic terrace, where you are still directly connected to the ground, paragliding feels very different because there is no physical contact with the terrain below. Once in the air, you are seated comfortably in your harness, and the sensation is more like floating rather than looking down from a fixed height.

Is there a minimum or maximum weight?

Ja. Das Mindestgewicht liegt bei ca. 20 kg, das Maximalgewicht bei ca. 120 kg.

Can children take part in the flight?

Yes. Minors may participate when accompanied by their parents or with written consent from a parent or legal guardian.

Is there an age limit?

Tandem paragliding is suitable for people of all ages, provided it is not medically contraindicated and weight limits are respected. Minors may take part with the consent of a parent or legal guardian.

What should I wear for the flight?

You will need sturdy shoes, sporty and weather-appropriate clothing, a jacket, and possibly sunglasses.

Can I fly with glasses or contact lenses?

Yes. You can safely take part in a tandem flight wearing either glasses or contact lenses.

Are photos and videos taken?

Yes. For an additional €20, professional photos and videos can be taken during the flight, capturing your entire experience – from take-off through the flight to landing. The files are transferred conveniently to your smartphone immediately after landing.

Is it possible to fly as a pair?

A tandem flight always consists of one passenger and one pilot. On request, we are happy to organise flights for couples or groups with multiple pilots.

Where does the flight take place?

Our most popular take-off locations are at Kronplatz, as well as other flying areas in South Tyrol and the Dolomites.

In what weather conditions do you fly?

Flights are carried out exclusively in safe weather conditions. Wind, thermals and overall weather conditions are checked professionally on a daily basis.

What happens in bad weather?

Safety always comes first. If weather conditions are not suitable for a safe tandem flight, the flight will be postponed or rescheduled for another date.
